The Linfield Christian Lions entered their tilt with the Western Christian Fighting Lancers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Linfield Christian came out on top against Western Christian by a score of 44-31 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Leading Linfield Christian to victory were John Reynoso and Thomas Paschal. Reynoso rushed for 150 yards, while Paschal rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown. Reynoso is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Tyrese Garnett got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Defeat or not, Western Christian got some senior leadership from JJ Hooper who picked up 201 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Jared Doolittle who threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns. Hooper's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards.
Linfield Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Western Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
Linfield Christian will head out on the road to face off against Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 929th, while Linfield Christian is ranked 449th). As for Western Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Classical Academy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
