Glenwood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Dadeville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Gators were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Brooke Morrell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Morrell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Claire Hargrove was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caroline Chapa, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Glenwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dadeville only managed seven hits.
The victory made it two in a row for Glenwood and bumps their season record up to 13-17-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Dadeville, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenwood will venture away from home to take on Montgomery Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dadeville, they will square off against Beauregard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
