The Clinton Red Devils entered their tilt with the Emerald Vikings with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Clinton walked away with a 35-23 win over Emerald on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Clinton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Clinton found their leader in underclassman Mylayja Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ry'Daijia Mars, who scored eight points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Emerald lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ti'yonia Tennant. Despite the final result, she scored two points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. Tennant is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.
Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Emerald, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Emerald also has no future games currently scheduled.
