The Miller Place Panthers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-57 to Amityville Memorial. Miller Place was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Amityville Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
When it comes to explaining why Miller Place lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Zicchinelli. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Callaghan, who scored 14 points.
Miller Place now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Amityville Memorial, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Kings Park the next time they take the court. Miller Place will host Kings Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Amityville Memorial will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st.
