The Central of Clay County Volunteers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Sylacauga Aggies at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Central of Clay County will be strutting in after a win while the Aggies will be coming in after a loss.
On Saturday, Central of Clay County didn't have too much trouble with the Wildcats on the road as they won 37-18. Given Central of Clay County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Wildcats are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central of Clay County relied on the efforts of India Glenn, who scored eight points, and Nariah Brock, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Sylacauga's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Childersburg.
Central of Clay County's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Sylacauga, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Central of Clay County strolled past the Aggies in their previous meeting last Thursday by a score of 55-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central of Clay County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
