The Twin Valley South Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Eaton Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Twin Valley South was beaten by the Indians 59-32. While losing is never fun, Twin Valley South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 751st, while the Indians are ranked 255th).
Despite their defeat, Twin Valley South saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Griffin Roell, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Thuma, who scored nine points.
Twin Valley South struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Eaton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 53-42 to Carlisle. Eaton has struggled against the Indians recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Twin Valley South has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Eaton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Twin Valley South suffered a grim 45-23 defeat to the Eagles when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Twin Valley South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
