Trinity Lutheran and Rising Sun are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cougars will take on the Shiners at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Trinity Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Henryville, taking the game 9-5.

Lincoln Huff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reed Roeder, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bode Brooks, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Rising Sun, as they earned their first away win of the season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Waldron a 13-0 shutout on Monday.
Like Trinity Lutheran, Rising Sun also got a great game from a two-way player: Weston Cumberworth. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Cumberworth was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Landon Simpson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Aiden White was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Rising Sun always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waldron only posted an OBP of .222.
The victory got Trinity Lutheran back to even at 1-1. As for Rising Sun, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
