On Friday, The R Red Jacket faced the Pembroke Dragons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. R took a serious blow against Pembroke, falling 66-20. R's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Tyson Totten went supernova for Pembroke, rushing for 384 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per carry. Totten hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Felski, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
R's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Pembroke, their victory was their 14th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
R does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pembroke will square off against Bolivar-Richburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bolivar-Richburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
