Meridian is a perfect 4-0 against Alexandria City since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Titans at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Meridian took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Warren County. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Elena Clark-Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claire Hartenstein, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Angelica Biegiecka also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Alexandria City hadn't done well against West Potomac recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Titans put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 15-5 win. The game was the first time the Titans have beaten the Wolverines on their field since June 2, 2021.
Leah Matthews made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Matthews was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Alli Goetz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Addie Tuttle, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Alexandria City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Potomac only managed eight hits.
Alexandria City moved to 6-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Meridian, their record now sits at 5-8.
Meridian beat Alexandria City 6-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
