The Lutheran South Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Parkway South. If Lutheran South hoped to take revenge for the 70-63 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Parkway South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Shanfeld, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Shanfeld scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Wolf, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Lutheran South bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Parkway South, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran South will take on Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burroughs and Lutheran South are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Parkway South, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Point at 6:00 p.m.
