Freedom had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 30-point drubbing they dealt Ashe County on Friday. The Freedom Patriots blew past the Ashe County Huskies 85-55. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Ashe County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Peters, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Trent Sheets, who posted 12 points.

The win (which was Freedom's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.3 points per game. As for Ashe County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8.

Freedom has already played their next game, a 77-70 loss against Watauga on the 22nd. As for Ashe County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-53 defeat against South Caldwell on the 21st.
