The West Forsyth Titans lost against the R.J. Reynolds Demons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. West Forsyth fell 41-32 to R.J. Reynolds. West Forsyth has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Forsyth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabel Gil, who scored six points along with two steals. Alexis Waters was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
R.J. Reynolds' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destiny Thompson, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Shyla Simms, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Forsyth's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for R.J. Reynolds, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
West Forsyth will head out on the road to challenge East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Forsyth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for R.J. Reynolds, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Reagan at 6:30 p.m. R.J. Reynolds and Reagan are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
