Archmere Academy faced Wilmington Friends in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Auks put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 28-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Auks in their matchups with the Quakers: they've now won three in a row.

Archmere Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Donovan out in front who rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Ryan Hagenberg, who rushed for 61 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Archmere Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Noah Blessington was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Archmere Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wilmington Friends, their loss dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Archmere Academy and Wilmington Friends will both be playing Mount Pleasant the next time they take the field. The Auks will host the Green Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Quakers will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th.
