BUTLER, Pa. - the Tigers scored 37 points in the second quarter to secure a big 58-3 victory over Butler (Pa.) on Saturday.
North Allegheny scored on a touchdown run by
Isaac Weaver, a
Jeff Clemens touchdown pass to
Clay Byerly, an Weaver touchdown run, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown pass by Clemens to
Elijah Zeise in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Byerly in the first quarter, NA was up 44-3 at the half.
The Wexford school grew its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Andre Sumpter.
Clemens stood out for North Allegheny in the win. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, NA came away with a 49-7 victory.
The loss was the third in a row for the Golden Tornado.
In a non-conference game next week Butler (1-4) takes on Upper St. Clair, and North Allegheny (4-1) will go up against Gateway also in a non-conference game.
