Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Pleasant). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 70-27 win over the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls. With the Tigers ahead 36-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the defeat, South Stanly saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kanija Colson went 6 for 15 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Mount Pleasant's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for South Stanly, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will face off against Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Albemarle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for South Stanly, they will square off against North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
