American Collegiate Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jamaal Caldwell, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Tristan Townsend, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caldwell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrese Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Canterbury won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 72-28 loss at the hands of Lakeside Christian. While losing is never fun, Canterbury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 659th, while Lakeside Christian is ranked 246th).
American Collegiate Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Canterbury, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
American Collegiate Academy beat Canterbury 64-56 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Canterbury's Rivers Lenholt, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
