The New Prairie Cougars struggled with threes on Thursday (the Glenn Falcons had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. New Prairie was the victim of a rough 67-46 loss at the hands of Glenn. New Prairie lost against Glenn in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-43 score last time.
Despite the loss, New Prairie still got an impressive performance from Reece Lapczynski, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Lapczynski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Brody Wiginton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Glenn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Chrapliwy, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Chrapliwy has scored at least 25% of Glenn's points. Another player making a difference was Carson Krueger, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
New Prairie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Glenn, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
New Prairie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Concord at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. Concord presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Prairie in Indiana (Concord is ranked 86th, while New Prairie is ranked 354th). As for Glenn, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Triton at 7:30 p.m.
