Julian lost to Mountain Empire on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin. Julian has struggled against Mountain Empire recently, as their contest on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Mountain Empire to victory were Andrew Sepulveda and Corey Vann. Sepulveda scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds, while Vann scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Sepulveda continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Shawcroft, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Julian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Julian will face off against Bonsall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Empire, they will head out on the road to face off against The Cambridge School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
