The Valley Vikings''s and the Bennett Tigers''s matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but the Valley Vikings turned on the heat in the second half with 21 points. Valley was the clear victor by a 48-24 margin over Bennett. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Adolf, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Devon Dietz, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Driggs, who rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Austin Stiers was another key contributor, gaining 169 total yards.
Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Bennett, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will take on D'Evelyn at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (D'Evelyn is ranked 164th, while Valley is ranked 173rd). As for Bennett, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Wellington will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
