The Carrollton Warriors were the 50-42 winner over the Sandy Valley Cardinals when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Carrollton took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandy Valley.
Carrollton's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Lincoln Mallarnee and Keegan Barkan. Mallarnee scored 17 points, while Barkan scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Murphy, who scored 8 points.
Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sandy Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Carrollton will be playing in front of their home fans against East Liverpool at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandy Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Strasburg-Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
