Last Wednesday, Pomona was fully in charge, breezing past Garey 59-15 on the road. That looming 59-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pomona yet this season.
Meanwhile, Claremont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alta Loma. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Claremont in their matchups with Alta Loma: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Claremont saw an underclassman step up: Aarion Kennebrew scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Jaden Wang was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Pomona's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Claremont, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-9.
