After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Temple Christian Academy, the Oconee Christian Academy Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Palmetto Christian Academy by a score of 52-44. The win was all the more spectacular given Oconee Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Palmetto Christian Academy is ranked 92nd).
Oconee Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Frick, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. Frick continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rick Soto, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Oconee Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Oconee Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Wardlaw Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Victory Christian at 5:30 p.m.
