Sadly, the Bryan Bears are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They had to suffer through a rough 50-8 loss at the hands of Gretna. Bryan has not had much luck with Gretna recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sonia Ascencio was Bryan's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Tylah Aliviya Carter held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Addison Armitage was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Bryan dropped their record down to 0-17 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.5 points per game. As for Gretna, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
Bryan will square off against Westview at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Bryan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last 17 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Gretna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lewis Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
