The Port Byron Panthers will square off against the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles at 2:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Port Byron is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Port Byron's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's  struggle, when Skaneateles hitters got past them. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Lakers  13-11.
Port Byron got a  massive  performance out of  Luciana Debois, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  home run marked the first that  Debois  launched this season.  Raelee McDowell was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.
 Debois wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Port Byron  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Jordan-Elbridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against  Solvay two weeks ago, falling  15-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Eagles have suffered  since April 15, 2024.
 Abby DelFavero put in work no matter where she played. She  struck out ten batters over  eight innings while giving up  six earned  (and nine unearned) runs off   seven  hits. DelFavero was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Grace Rusyniak was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with one  triple and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Jay, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
Port Byron's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Jordan-Elbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
