Hiram is 3-0 against Dalton since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hiram Hornets will look to defend their home court against the Dalton Catamounts at 7:30 p.m. Hiram will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Even though Cartersville scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Hiram still came out on top. Hiram blew past Cartersville 82-62. Given Hiram's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Cartersville is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Dalton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Calhoun 52-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dalton in their matchups with Calhoun: they've now lost five in a row.
Dalton's defeat came about despite a quality game from Eli Burt, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Burt has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Drew Snyder was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.
Hiram is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Dalton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Everything went Hiram's way against Dalton in their previous meeting two weeks ago as Hiram made off with a 71-46 win. Will Hiram repeat their success, or does Dalton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
