Talya Haim and Senia Gutierrez did most of the damage at the plate: Haim went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two doubles gave Haim a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Delgado, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
El Camino Real was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Granada Hills Charter came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cavaliers as they made off with a 16-2 win.
Lainey Brown was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Jasmine Soriano was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Granada Hills Charter pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for El Camino Real, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. El Camino Real hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Granada Hills Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs.
