Basketball Recap: Reagan Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

On Friday, the Reagan Bison earned a 75-64 victory over the Downtown Doral Dolphins. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Dolphins are ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reagan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Bravo out in front who posted 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave Bravo a new career-high. Sebastian Gonzalez was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Bravo wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Reagan was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Downtown Doral still got an impressive performance from Giancarlo Romero, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Salas, who put up 14 points.

Reagan's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Downtown Doral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Reagan will square off against Dade Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downtown Doral, they will take on Belen Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
