The Washington Township Senators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 72-45 loss at the hands of Hebron. Washington Township has struggled against the Hawks recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Washington Township saw an underclassman step up: Rob Mcgowan scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Garzella, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Washington Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Washington Township's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hebron, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Washington Township will head out on the road to take on the Fighting Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Station Edison is on a nine-game streak of home losses, the Senators a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Hebron will take on the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North White will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Hawks are ranked 113th).
