After a string of six wins, the Oakland-Craig Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Malcolm. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakland-Craig in their matchups with Malcolm: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Oakland-Craig lost, one person who can't be blamed is Morgan Ray. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Pelan, who scored nine points along with six assists.
It was another big night for Halle Dolliver, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds for Malcolm. The matchup was Dolliver's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Mckenna Powell was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Oakland-Craig's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Malcolm, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Oakland-Craig will be playing in front of their home fans against Stanton on Friday. Hopefully Stanton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. Malcolm and Milford will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
