Central Kitsap and Klahowya pushed the score to 13-11 the last time they played Klahowya, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Cougars never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Coral Howell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Berg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Central Kitsap is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Klahowya, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9-1 record.

Looking ahead, Central Kitsap will welcome North Thurston at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Klahowya, they will square off against Chimacum at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.18 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
