In what's become a running theme this season, the East Lansing Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Grand Ledge 83-45 at home. With East Lansing ahead 45-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Leading East Lansing to victory were Jayce (JL) Branson and Cameron Hutson. Branson scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Hutson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hutson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr., who scored ten points.
East Lansing pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Grand Ledge, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
East Lansing will face off against St. Mary's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Mary's Prep will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something East Lansing surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grand Ledge, they will head out on the road to challenge DeWitt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
