The Maine South Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Jones Eagles  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Maine South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season.
Maine South took a loss when they played away from home  last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Saturday. They walked away with  a   6-3  victory over Addison Trail.
 Sibelle Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season.

 On the hitting side,  Aribella Spandiary was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aubrey Mazza, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Maine South  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. They are 4-2 when  they post two or more  home runs.
 Meanwhile, Jones fell victim to Northside and their airtight pitching crew  on Tuesday. They lost  7-0 to the Mustangs. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
 Maine South's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5-1.
Wednesday's   match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maine South hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Jones struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .426. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Maine South took their  victory against Jones  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  10-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success,  or do  the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
