The matchup between The Washington Panthers and the Morton Potters on Friday hardly resembled the 7-0 effort from their previous meeting. Washington was the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Morton. The victory was familiar territory for Washington who now have seven in a row.
Washington's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-2 Metamora and 6-3 Dunlap (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.8% over those games). As for Morton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1.
Washington will take on Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Morton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
