Portage Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Mishawaka HomeSchool W Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
After soaring to 57 points the game before, Portage Christian were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were outmatched by Westville at home and fell 80-24.
Meanwhile, Mishawaka HomeSchool W's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Highland View Academy by a score of 37-34.
Mishawaka HomeSchool W might have lost, but man, Colten Dobrodt was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Dobrodt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Blair, who scored seven points.
Portage Christian dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mishawaka HomeSchool W, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.
Portage Christian came up short against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 61-50. Can Portage Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
