Jefferson Township stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 60-32 win over North Warren Regional at home. Given Jefferson Township's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while North Warren Regional is ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jefferson Township had a senior duo take command as Grace Weihmiller scored 22 points along with five rebounds and Emily Poulas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weihmiller has scored all season. Emma Barone was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Montville beat Middletown South 43-39 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Montville needed coming off of a 56-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Jefferson Township has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Montville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Things could have been worse for Jefferson Township, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-38 loss to Montville when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
