The Upper Lake Cougars and the Round Valley Mustangs will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Upper Lake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Upper Lake challenged Anderson Valley on Thursday. The Cougars fell 48-44 to the Panthers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tyler Collins, who posted 12 points. TJ Malicay was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Round Valley was beaten by Cloverdale 77-45 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1041st, while the Eagles are ranked 516th).

Upper Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Round Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Upper Lake was able to grind out a solid win over Round Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 61-54. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
