The Bergen Tech Knights will head out on the road to challenge the River Dell Golden Hawks at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. River Dell took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bergen Tech, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Bergen Tech turned things around against Fair Lawn on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cutters.
Tiernan O'Rourke tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bergen Tech is 2-1 when O'Rourke allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Nieves, who went 3-for-6 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Camporeale, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, River Dell was a bit more limited in their contest on Sunday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Milford.
Kevin Good was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Jordan Mellaci was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Mason Nagle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
River Dell's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Bergen Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Bergen Tech took their win against River Dell in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Golden Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
