This season hasn't been kind to IDEA Frontier College Prep, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were outmatched by Progreso on the road and fell 62-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for IDEA Frontier College Prep in their matchups with Progreso: they've now lost four in a row.
Progreso's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Pecina, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. The contest was Pecina's 22nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorena Cerda, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
IDEA Frontier College Prep bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Progreso, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Lyford the next time they take the court. Progreso will head out to face Lyford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while IDEA Frontier College Prep will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
