It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Palmdale Falcons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellflower and snuck past 40-38. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Palmdale can attribute much of their success to Clifton Chalk, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Joseph Mason was another key contributor, rushing for seven yards and a touchdown.
Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Akida Warmsley Jr, who rushed for 34 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 90 yards and two touchdowns on only four passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Morrow, who rushed for 127 yards on only 15 carries.
Palmdale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Bellflower, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Palmdale will head out on the road to face off against Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellflower does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
