Southside Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Liberty Christian Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Luke Boush and Jakeem Bradford.
Last Friday, Southside Christian ended up a good deal behind Neuse Charter and lost 54-39.
A silver lining for Southside Christian was the play of Boush, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Boush is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Aiden Kunkel was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 68-41 win over Wilmington Christian Academy at home. The win was nothing new for Liberty Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
Liberty Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ian Sterrett, who scored 22 points along with four steals, and Bradford, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sterrett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Young, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Liberty Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
