The Centennial Coyotes came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Pinnacle as Centennial made off with a 31-6 win. Centennial pushed the score to 31-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Pinnacle cut but never quite recovered from.
Centennial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Carter out in front who picked up 103 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kenneth Worthy also helped out as he racked up 103 receiving yards.
Centennial's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Gavin Gardner and Carter who racked up four sacks between them.
Centennial has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record. As for Pinnacle, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. As for Pinnacle, they will head out on the road to face off against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Saguaro is ranked seventh, while Pinnacle is ranked ninth).
