Legacy hasn't had much luck against Sierra Vista recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain Lions at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Legacy made easy work of Doral Academy Red Rock and carried off a 17-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Easton Lake made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Legacy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise.
In other batting news, Legacy got a massive performance out of Hunter Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Campbell has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of William Glover, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doral Academy Red Rock only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Sierra Vista waltzed into their matchup on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Mountain Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Dillon Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Owen Angelo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Legacy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sierra Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Legacy came up short against Sierra Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
