Softball Recap: Sumner's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Sumner unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took an 18-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springfield Bulldogs. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Springfield, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumner will venture away from home to challenge Bogalusa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will head out to face off against Pine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.88 runs per game on average), something Springfield will no doubt try to take advantage of.
