Wellington had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Morton 70-0 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wellington.
Meanwhile, Sunray waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on New Home with a sharp 28-7 win.
Armando Lujan was his usual excellent self, rushing for 95 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 227 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.9% of his passes. Lujan is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arnold Mendoza, who rushed for 162 yards.
Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Sunray, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
