Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Rich Rebels walked away with it. They blew past Water Canyon 50-14 at home. Considering Rich has won four contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rich's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Hoffman, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 41 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Holmes, who threw for 67 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Despite the loss, Water Canyon still got an impressive performance from Johnny Johnson, who threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Rich and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Water Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Rich will square off against Monticello at 10:00 a.m. on November 11th. Monticello is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Water Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
