The Ellwood City Wolverine lost against the Neshannock Lancers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ellwood City was outmatched by Neshannock at home and fell 42-14. Ellwood City has struggled against Neshannock recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Wolverine players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Palmer-McCane, who rushed for 106 yards on only 14 carries.
Neshannock found their leader in underclassman Jino Mozzocio, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Argiro, who rushed for 53 yards and three touchdowns.
Neshannock's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Anthony Bonner and his two sacks.
Ellwood City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Neshannock, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 8-1 record this season.
Ellwood City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Neshannock is also done with their season.
