The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will square off against the Overland Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matchups -- so hopefully Overland likes a good challenge.
Mountain Vista is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 81-47 victory over Loveland. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 25 points or more this season.

Oliver Junker was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double with ten points, 13 boards, and ten assists. What's more, he posted five blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal Baskind, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 19 points and three steals.
Mountain Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.
Broomfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Overland proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over the Eagles. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but the Trailblazers were the better team in the second half.
Overland had a senior duo take command as Siraaj Ali went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds and Tj Manuel shot 78% from the field en route to 18 points and eight assists. Ali's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Isreal Littleton was another key player, going 6-for-7 to rack up 12 points and six boards.
Mountain Vista's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5. As for Overland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mountain Vista has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Overland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mountain Vista beat Overland 72-63 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Overland's Marzouq Abdur-Razaaq, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Mountain Vista to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
