Basketball Recap: Emme Dalhoff Key Part of a Team Effort in Marauders Win

Clearwater Central Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Braden River on Saturday. The Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders managed a 37-31 win over the Braden River Pirates. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Pirates are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clearwater Central Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emme Dalhoff led the charge by putting up five points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Dalhoff is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Comfort, who posted seven points and five steals.

Clearwater Central Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matchups.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelis McGrady, who had eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

Clearwater Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Braden River, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Clearwater Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 win against Seminole on the 30th. As for Braden River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-25 victory against Southeast on the 30th.
