Hempstead has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the East Bernard Brahmas at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hempstead focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
While Hempstead couldn't quite beat Boling on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 46-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Hempstead fell just short of Boling by a score of 64-61. Hempstead has struggled against Boling recently, as their game on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dontae Houston, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jamari Idlebird was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, East Bernard's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 47-37 to Van Vleck.
Hempstead's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 13-12. As for East Bernard, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Hempstead lost to East Bernard on the road by a decisive 61-42 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Hempstead avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
