After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, The Eastside Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 win over Laurens. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Eastside's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB ten times. The heavy lifting was done by Jaquavious Dodd and Andrew Moree who racked up six sacks between them.
Eastside's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Laurens, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Eastside will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m. Wade Hampton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Laurens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
